Born in Kanhangad, Kerala, in 1985, Sachin George Sebastian is a graduate in communication design from the National Institute of Design (NID), Ahmedabad, in 2006. In his practice, Sebastian weaves philosophy, personal memory and sensory experiences to reflect on the conditions of civilizations and cities as well as the cultural ramifications of urban movement in sculptural works often appearing as if observed from an aerial view.
His work has appeared in several exhibitions, including at Hampi Art Labs (2023); Once, there was a seed at Vadehra Art Gallery, New Delhi (2021); Lokame Tharavadu, curated by Bose Krishnamachari, in Allepey, Kerala (2021); Exhibit 320, New Delhi (2015, 2012); Devi Art Foundation, New Delhi (2015); Gallery OED, Kochi (2013, 2012); Kochi and Birla Academy, Kolkata (2014); and an installation preview at India International Centre (IIC), New Delhi (2012). His work has also been featured at Sensorium 2018, Sunaparanta Centre for the Arts, Goa (2015); the Kochi-Muziris Biennale (2015); and the Fondazione Pastificio Cerere & Basu Foundation for the Arts - India, Italy, Myanmar (2014).The artist lives and works in Bangalore, India
