Pablo Armesto


 Pablo Armesto (Schaffhausen, Switzerland, 1970) lives and works between Asturias and Madrid.

His work is framed within an experimental space in which sculpture and painting coexist with the immaterial character of light and shadow, together with technology and science. The luminescence of his pieces is achieved through systems of LEDs, neons, cathodes and fiber optics, combined with wood and lacquered metals.

Some of his works are located in the field of art of new multimedia technologies and installation, El espíritu del Vino, Colección Otazu, Navarra. or Secuencias 24, exhibited in centers such as the ZKM Museum of Karlshue in Germany (2009) and Laboral Centro de Arte Gijón (2008) through the transnational exhibition "Banquete, nodos y redes" (Banquet, nodes and networks).

 He has received numerous awards and grants among which include, Meeting Point (Espacio Astragal, 2004), Inner Light(ALNorte ,Espacio Líquido Gallery, 2005) and Inside, the rain (Barjola Museum, 2009).

He has also participated in numerous public art projects including El Cabañu, Candás-Asturias (2009). Paso a paso, Jardines del Príncipe del Real sitio de Covadonga, Cangas de Onís-Asturias (2007), Sueños de papel FIB Art, Benicasim, Castellón (2005) and collaborated in cooperation projects "¿Qué Arte? Discourses without borders"_ 400th Anniversary of the University of Oviedo (Banco Herrero, 2008) Arte AlNorte (Centro Cultural Cajastur Palacio Revillagigedo, (2008). Or the Interceltic Festival of Lorient (France) within the project Identity and Memory.
