Dora Hitz – From Franconia to Romania to the World

Kunstverein Coubourg
The international exhibition Dora Hitz – Aus Franken nach Rumänien in die Welt (“From Franconia to Romania into the World”) celebrates the life and legacy of German artist Dora Hitz, the first court painter to the Romanian royal family, whose career was shaped by a close friendship with Queen Elisabeth of Romania.

A centerpiece of the exhibition is the presentation of Hitz’s striking large-scale murals, originally created for Peleș Castle in Sinaia, Romania. This exceptional international collaboration honors a pioneering figure in art history and invites visitors to experience the breadth of her artistic journey.
